Tritonia disticha ssp. rubrulescens

Plant type: Bulb

This is a lovely South African plant with many open rosy-pink flowers on wiry stems in high summer, looking rather like shorter Dierama (Angel's Fishing Rods). Once established they soon clump to produce a rewarding display each year, preferring a sunny sheltered place and well drained soil.

Tritonia look especially good when planted alongside lower growing grasses such as Stipa tenuissima or also alongside asters.

A good alternative if you are seeking a pink Crocosmia-like plant.
